August Family Update

The main and BIG thing that happened to us this in August is Cali Jo Kubinski made an early arrival.  She was born August 17, 2013 at 5:38 am.  It was an early and fast delivery.  I will be doing a birth story post soon. Here are a few of Cali's newborn photos. She was 3 days old when the lovely Erin at Sweet Sparrow Photography fit us in. If you have not gone and liked Sweet Sparrow Photographys facebook page yet please go and support her :) https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sweet-Sparrow-Photography/305024019511511

Another exciting thing that happened in August is Joshua hit his 3 year mark in the U.S. Navy.  Along with hitting his 3 year mark he received his good conduct medal aka his "good cookie" medal. The actual receiving of it will be sometime in September.

Cooper is doing good as big brother. He's always been good at sharing but now hes learning how to be "gentle" with his sissy.  The first few days he didn't pay much attention to her and he kept doing his own thing. He gives her kisses and doesn't show much jealousy other then when Daddy is holding her. Cooper is such a Daddy's boy!
And he just gives me puzzled looks when i'm nursing her. Maybe he is starting to remember it as a distant memory.... or he doesn't remember it at all and is really confused as why we do it.  Not really sure :p
Wish he could tell me! We are working on his vocabulary. His newest development in August learning how to climb. He is constantly climbing everything. Including the dining room table.

And Coloring on the Wall. Kids will be kids.

Taking a Minute to brag about my husband :)

Mr. Fancy Pants has a name plate :)
Joshua has been working nights, and hes been shop supervisor for a few months now. He's slowly getting more responsibilities and i couldn't be prouder.  Not only did he have an EP (early promote) last eval, he was also the #1 petty officer third class :) As a shop supervisor he got a name plate in their shop.  I know some may think its silly but its a BIG deal to me! Couldn't be more proud!! I know you never read our blog, Joshua, but I love you and you make more and more proud each and everyday :)

Coopers 4th of July Photoshoot!!!

We just got the files for Coopers Fourth of July photos. Courtesy of Sweet Sparrow Photography.  Erin is such an amazing person photographer and has been doing all our photos for the past year now. During the shoot Cooper was not a happy camper and was super fussy. Hes usually so happy during his photos but this time he was a little more difficult. Erin still got some amazing photos, don't you think? if any family wants me to email them the digital file so they can print it let me know :)

Also Erin will be doing our Maternity Photo Session next month. So check back for those amazing photos!!!!

Cali's Nursery So Far...and our plans to finish it

Having a little girl is a lot more work than a boy! there are some fun crafts and DIY with boys nurserys but a girls nursery you can add the extra rhinestone or sparkle or tutu to pretty much EVERYTHING. this is what is done so far but we still have a lot of dazzzling up to do.  We are also still waiting for the bedding, Auntie Jen and Uncle David are getting it. All her walls still need more art work too. I want to make her a tutu stool or maybe add a tutu to the chair in the corner of her room. Her closet still needs A LOT of organizing and labels.. if you know me i am no stranger to a label maker.
Her colors were originally going to be aqua and coral but we hit a few speed bumps along the way, so we have just been going with the flow. First the color coral is hard to find. Coral isn't just a general color, i knew what i wanted in my head, but finding it is something else. So then i thought we will just do all shades of pink. Next the aqua wall color. i went to home depot, found the color i though i would like and bought a sample. Came home but a little swatch up and it was perfect!! We go to buy the color a few days later and of course i'm impatient and cant wait so Josh and i paint the room. As it dries we notice its not like the sample but A LOT lighter. i thought maybe its still wet in a few spots we wont know for sure for a few days when its completely dry. Well it ended up being lighter.... I knew if i took the paint back to home depot they would replace it no problem but who really wants to repaint the whole room again? so we just went with it. Plus me being eager just wanted to get the crib put together. It had been sitting in our dining room in a box for a week.

So plans still to do.
Tutu chair or stool?
A burlap and rose mirror (in progress!!!)
a few art works and a bunting flag above her crib.
some sort of rug. i love the look of the t shirt rugs but they are VERY time consuming. i need to get off the island and make a trip to Ross and rug hunt there.
And still have no clue what to do with the empty wall by the dresser.... at first i was thinking just a wall decal but of course the decal i like is $55. so i have been hunting on Pinterest for another idea........ stay tuned to find out what we come up with.

Time to TRY and start this again!!!

okay, i promise no excuses this time. i will try and do an entry a week but we shall see. having a toddler running around and pregnant i stay busy! i need an outlet to destress and talk about how our family is doing at the end of the week. so i think this will be a perfect place...
Lets play catch up with the Kubinski Family really quick!

Cooper Cuddled up with Mommy and Cali
Ive been busy just being a stay at home mom and wife! Most people dont realize that being a stay at home mom and wife how many hats you wear during the day. Chef, house keeper, babysitter, household accountant, and the one who has to keep track and know where each persons belongings are, just to name a few. Also ive been making baby #2!!! We are having a girl join our family on or around Septemeber 2nd. We are naming her Cali, we wanted to stick with "C" names and with our California roots we couldnt resist the name! Most recently i started a at home business with a wellness Company called Melaleuca.  Im hoping to blog throughout my journey on building my Melaleuca business. So stay tuned!

So Proud :)
Joshua is still in the navy and stationed at Nas Whidbey island.  We will be here for about two more years before we pack up and go to our next duty station. Hes been such a wonderful daddy and has really stepped it up while ive been pregnant with Cali. He even lets me sleep in while he gets up with Cooper since hes been working the night shift and is home in the morning. Other than the navy and being a Petty Officer Third Class now not much has changed with josh. He is excelling at work and i couldnt be more proud of him.  He got an  EP (early promote) on his last evaluation and is set to take the second class exam in september (september is going to be a big month for us i think).

Now on to Cooper!!!

Coopers 1 year Photoshoot

cooper almost 4 months
what hasnt changed with him!?!? hes no longer a baby but an almost 15 month old toddler. He runs around everywhere. loves all his toys and absolutely LOVES his daddy.  He is such a daddys boy! he used to be all about mom but once he reached about 10 months, right about the time we stopped breastfeeding, he wants nothing to do with mom, just dad! He is such a good kid though, we actually really got lucky with him. Makes me terrified that Cali will make up for it and be our rebellious one. Cooper is an eating machine and the only thing we found that he doesnt like is mushrooms, another thing like his daddy. We have also found out that Cooper is allergic to strawberries.  It makes me so sad because strawberries are amazing. Im hoping he outgrows it.  Nobody else in the family or distant family have this allergy so im not sure where he gets that from.

Martini cuddling with Coop
Next is Martini!! cant forgot about her!! she is 2 years old now and Coopers best friend. Mostly because cooper is constantly sharing his food with her no matter how much i try to stop it. Shes still the crazy hyper dog we had before.  I think she is getting a little bit calmer with age but shes still a hyper one. She loves cuddling, especially on my growing belly.

So this is my next attempt to maintain and keep up with the blog this time!

here are some pictures from the past year.

we moved again! yes AGAIN. once we found out we were pregnant we needed another bedroom!!!

With how much we move, josh is becoming a pro at packing.
We got a new car this year too!!! the Ford Focus was just little two small to fit a second car seat in. so we upgraded to a car that was just a little bit bigger. taking baby steps before we can large SUV or truck.
Kia Soul!
